Yes but that was after the American people voted for an administration which explicitly ran on a platform of "we will do exactly that".
The attempted framing is as government oppression by "the elites", but half the country - the regular people - they're all for this.
- BrawnyBadger53 2y agoMedian voters voted for Trump because they wanted a regime change after feeling the economic shock of covid. This is the trend across basically every democratic country. Polls on the issue itself show that this split is not 50/50 though the actual number escapes me.
