Tell HN: "Hacker News Hug of Deaf" Connection Data
- susam 2y agoHello HN! In case anyone is curious how many connections occurred in yesterday's "Hacker News Hug of Deaf" party at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43642123 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43642123, this post is a link to the post-processed data obtained between 10:00:00 UTC and 23:59:59 UTC yesterday. The data has been post-processed to do only two things: 1) Ignore the client payloads to reduce the file size. The original file size was 89 MB. 2) Anonymise the client IP addresses. A quick summary of the data: Unique clients: 1396 Total connects: 352831 Total beeps: 1411324 See also https://susam.net/hn-bell.html#update-2025-04-10 https://susam.net/hn-bell.html#update-2025-04-10 for some graphs. Thanks everyone for participating in this pointless, fun activity!
