$2,150 for an iPhone?
- slaterdev 2y agoI wonder if we'll see a Cuba-like effect, with a proliferation of repair shops, DIY culture, and 10-year-old phones. I feel myself wanting to hold on to my wife's old iPhone 8 a bit longer, even though it went out of support last week.
- fsflover 2y agoThis is not so simple with Apple: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27240008 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27240008 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=20641424 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=20641424
- dtgm92 2y agostill use my 2015 galaxy s6 every day nothing has been repaired or replaced on it, same battery also i was curious how long it would last so i kept using it. i run it in low power mode with screen dimmed. it only sees wifi, no actual phone calling. a lot of apps dont work anymore for it, but it plays videos fine, lets me take notes, and i can browse the internet so thats more than enough. fdroid app store is helpful to find older versions of apps that work
- dtgm92 2y agoi slow charge it overnight as well, it takes like 6 hours. i think that has kept the battery in a good shape
