The part that aggravates me the most is that DOGE staff at the SSA are being used to provide information on individuals targeted by this dragnet - at this point, you can see why DOGE would want to use college grads under 25 with less moral scruples than, say, anyone older with less to lose (i.e. the senior civil servants at the SSA that had recently resigned over sharing this information.) It does also illustrate that “DOGE” at this point is a general-purpose fixer for the executive rather than an impartial efficiency strike team.
