"American importers from China are being forced to reduce 500% markup to 398%"
- nailer 2y agoThere’s a practical example in a quote post: https://x.com/sudovatnik/status/1909769120024797295?s=46 https://x.com/sudovatnik/status/1909769120024797295?s=46
- legitster 2y agoThis is a really shallow analysis. Those are bulk prices from Alibaba, and don't include the expensive and ridiculously slow shipping. Once you repackage it and and reship it express (included in the Prime price) you're easily adding another $10 a bottle. So actual the margins are much closer to 25-33%.
- detaro 2y agoWeird how in the massive "buy stuff from ali and resell" industry nobody has gotten the idea to go to 420% markup and undercut all the competition yet, if its all arbitrary markup.
- nailer 2y agoThe bad ads from dropshipping ‘courses’ usually show ways to find items that have SEO yet nobody else is currently importing to avoid competition. Eg someone finds the top 10 best selling items at Home Depot and will parallel import just those items. There’s enough places with little competition it’s still blue ocean and not red.
