The EPA considers it in the highest tier of risk - "Known To Be Human Carcinogen" - alongside such fun substances as Asbestos, Benzene and Formaldehyde. Yet fewer than half of Americans polled even realize that alcohol has any relationship to cancer, let alone an extremely strong and causal one! The booze industry was able to do what the tobacco industry couldn't - pull off a successful public denial of all links to cancer.
