What I get out of this is that a Parser Combinator beats a poorly-implemented Regex. The author notes the performance of the regex is abysmal and then laments they can't see why. I think the more interesting story is what is going on with the regex implementation.
- kqr 2y agoYou're right. It was wrong to emphasise the speed so much. I've shifted the emphasis to the other benefits one gets from using parser combinators. That was the real story in my head anyway.
