Men statistically have fewer social connections and suffer more from loneliness as they get older, so if the goal is to remedy that, it makes sense to start with men first.

- klipt 2y agoIf one house is on fire and you spray water on it to put out the fire, do you feel obligated to spray water on every other house too so that the other houses don't feel discriminated against?
- 9dev 2y agoIf you’re the fire department, acting on the governments behalf? Yes.
- klipt 2y agoFire departments spray water on not burning houses?
- DeathArrow 2y agoIn the current political climate, yes.

- mc3301 2y agoIs this true in Japan, too?
- presentation 2y agoI don't have hard data but from my personal anecdote, I would say yes.
- Suppafly 2y agoI suspect it's worse in Japan.
- fennecfoxy 2y agoIt's true for any intelligent species with sexual dimorphism. However I agree; it's great that the initiative was started for those men, but they could totally hit up the older women in the area as well for an additional set.
