Why did you keep reading? If you weren't getting the value out of HN you wanted, why not just stop reading that thread and move on? All -isms are charged topics, and sexism is especially so in this community. It was a fairly respectful discussion around those things. It got fairly tangential, but that's when I just stopped reading. You can go to bed today knowing that you've done nothing to make this community any better--just pollute it with more on that topic instead of keeping it contained.
