- rsynnott 2y agoI mean, given the baseline that the EU _has_ to retaliate (IMO the game theory of trade wars dictates this; the EU really can't _not_ retaliate), targeted retaliation against Trump's people, and potentially targeted retaliation against Trump-voting regions (the EU did this in Trump's first attempt at tariff increases a few years back), is likely less damaging than China's approach for the EU (though certainly also lacking in the same degree of shock and awe).
