I was in this space (out of work now) for 20 years and at the end things just got bonkers. The best companies I have worked for don’t even have a hands on coding project. At worst they have a SIMPLE take home project to test critical thinking skills. The worst jobs are the ones requiring hours of interviews and tech conversations. Note that I am out of work due to declining health. I’ve seen some improvement, and have been thinking about going back if things continue to trend upward, but the current state of dev and onboarding has me sick to my stomach. Might just see if i can bag groceries instead.
