- SG- 2y agoAnd when all of it leaks in waterways and various lands that people and animals use? Letting corporations like Dupont poison people again isn't a good thing. Also that's exactly what Governments are supposed to do in civilized and modern countries, to protect their population.

- nonrandomstring 2y ago"Solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short". That was the life Thomas Hobbes argued against in 1651 [0] and to which US America has such a nostalgia for. - NotGMan 2y agoI fully agree in theory. In practice everything gets poisoned due to the circular earth global-level natural recyling system. So basically you need to steam distill water to remove pollutants, plant your own veggies in non-plastic containers, test your own soil, keep your kids out of public schools... It's doable, but you really need to put in the hours!
- bediger4000 2y agoSure, but if you can't find out some is toxic or cancer causing, this is impossible. I'll note that asbestos' health effects were covered up for years. If you're not an expert you can't know. That's why there was a regulatory state. Also there's a little economic concept called "externalizing". I come to your neighborhood, set up a popup forever chemical factory, foul your neighborhood, and when you figure out your children are born with spina bifida because of my factory, I leave at 3am. I externalized the health effects, but I made a tidy profit!
