- josefritzishere 2y agoThey guy who blows up cars and rockets regularly should not be in charge of this.
- quantified 2y agoHe can get it broken and then be forced out by the 130-day rule, leaving it broken...
- lysace 2y agoI posit that for doing something like this you want humans doing the work, not LLMs run by kids. It also probably doesn't hurt probably if they're on the older side by developer standards. Or at least insanely detail-oriented and being able to take pride in doing good but kind of boring work.
- tmaly 2y agoChesteron's fence comes to mind. I don't care how smart people think Elon is, there is no way to rewrite 60 million lines of Cobol and not break something.
- dzhiurgis 2y agoWhy you are assuming it’s not broken right now.
- whattheheckheck 2y agoThere's a magical floating dragon in my garage. You can't see it you must trust me.
- howard941 2y agoWhat's the reason for modernization anyway? "Because it's there" shouldn't count. I mean, what's the compelling reason?
- bananapub 2y agothe american media is just completely unable to handle endless bald facing lying to their face. > "DOGE, a made up agency the government lies about Elon Musk not running, is planning to absolutely fuck up the way that Social Security works" it's much longer, but much more honest. if they actually wanted to "modernise" things then they'd calm the fuck down and spend three years trying to understand the current system, then design an incremental replacement.
