Nintendo delays Switch 2 pre-orders in response to Trump tariffs

- jeffgreco 2y agoIs it the most important effect of tariffs? No. But it's a nice public one, especially for people who aren't in the market for a new car. Here's hoping someone does something about the White House's embarrassing decrees.
- legitster 2y ago> Trump hit China with an additional 34% duty on Wednesday, and hit Vietnam, where Nintendo has moved some of its production, with a 46% tariff. It's ironic that all of these companies spent massive amounts of money to move their production facilities outside of China, just to have the rug pulled out from under them again.
- steveBK123 2y agoThe tariffs are incoherent as they don't align at all with foreign policy. Not the first or last time for this admin.
- 4ndrewl 2y agoThey don't even align with countries. You know why those odd territories have been given tariffs - because they have tlds. They can't even put a list of trading countries together.
- steveBK123 2y agoIt’s possible, and a lot of people find this contentious.. that he is not smart and has surrounded himself with dumber sycophants this time than last time
- rsynnott 2y agoOr ISO-3166 numbers, but yeah. Most of those islands don't have independent trade policies, even the ones with people on them.
- theGeatZhopa 2y agoDormamu, I came for bargain... Somehow it's putting a smile onto my face. In Europe is now difficult to preorder, and I didn't get one. But, if the units for US are halted, maybe, they will be diverted to EU? Then I'll buy.
