- neogodless 2y agoInteresting! Potatoes are approaching $1/pound. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000712112 https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000712112 A medium to large potato weighs roughly 1/2 pound. https://lovingnaturefarm.com/how-much-does-a-potato-weigh/ https://lovingnaturefarm.com/how-much-does-a-potato-weigh/ Eggs are about $0.44 / egg average https://eggprices.org/national-data https://eggprices.org/national-data So depending on where you live, your potato costs more than an egg! (But only because egg prices have gone back down a bit!)
