  Is this a thought held by any serious person? The only major country to indefinitely postpone an election recently has been Ukraine. This idea that the midterms wouldn’t be held is tin foil nonsense.

    Ukraine hasn't postponed elections indefinitely. They have postponed them until they are no longer at war. Other countries have effectively gone from moderately democratic elections to sham elections. Turkey is one major country that is going through this process at the moment.
