- JohnFen 2y agoIf you needed medicine that cost money, but you could get poison for free, you'd choose the poison instead of the medicine?
- Ukv 2y agoPeople choosing to use an LLM for therapeutic support probably do so with the belief that it is, while maybe not as beneficial as a human therapist, better than nothing. Early RCT results[0] so far do seem promising. It's not equivalent to choosing to drink poison, which would very clearly be far worse than nothing. - JohnFen 2y agoFair enough, "poison" was going a bit far. I do very much suspect it's actively detrimental, but that's just my personal opinion, not fact.
