But I was told that the Cybertruck would outsell the F-150!
- lotsofpulp 2y agoModel 3 and Y have composed of 95%+ of Tesla’s deliveries for at least a few years. No serious analysis would have concluded Cybertruck to be anything other than a rounding error.
- 4ndrewl 2y agoMusk said they'd sell 250k-500k a year to shareholders. They're running at what - 10pct of that - so that seems like a fair comment.
- lotsofpulp 2y agoI don’t see how anyone could put stock in anything Musk claims, he has a very long history of making bombastic claims.
- JohnFen 2y ago> making bombastic claims Also known as "lying".
- 4ndrewl 2y agoHe said it at shareholder meeting. You'd expect a higher level of probity when addressing the people who own your business? Unless he wasn't being straight with them?
- lotsofpulp 2y agoI would not expect it from Musk, based on his previous behavior.
- steveharman 2y agoAs he's an officer of a public company, isn't this kind of wildly inaccurate prediction covered by some kind of law?
- 4ndrewl 2y agoFor all practical purposes he's above the law.
- Damogran6 2y agoI think Denver's status as a hub for IT, Telco, Aviation/Aerospace may skew things a bit, but the town is _lousy_ with Tesla products. Cybertruck included. And I think this period of time is going to be underscored by the guilt of good products helmed by questionable people. Musk, J.K. Rowling, Neil Gaiman, all have either produced or led thousands of people to produce good things. And then they got rich enough to let their filter drop? I dunno how to exactly phrase it.
