I think an even simpler argument can be made: our brain develops in response to the physical stimulus we experience from birth (earlier even). Basically, even if it's a simple computation engine, can we put that simulation through the stimulus our brain experiences (not easily) and will lack of that turn into entirely differently behaving system?
