- mushufasa 2y agoMy vague understanding is that the Trust has enough interest on its treasury/endowment to keep the paper independent and free from shareholder profit-maximization pressures, but not enough money to fully fund the paper off interest on it's endowment. Hence why they can afford to forgo a paywall, but still have to ask for your subscription/donations.
