MCP and the emerging enterprise AI OS layer
- cratermoon 2y agoPretty sure this AI/Agentic/MCP business is going to end up like the service-oriented architecture/Enterprise Service Bus craze of the mid 2000s. Whatever good ideas of limited scope were present will get stretched out to infest the entire enterprise, driven by marketing and executives out of touch with life at the hands-on-keyboards level of daily development. At some point in the future it will be vastly stripped down or ripped out entirely (painfully), and a few bits and pieces still limping along will be that part everyone has to work around and nobody wants to touch. infest almost
