Since 50%+ of people voted for Trump I don't your "most of community" is quite accurate.
"A small amount of paid activists and mentally ill people" would be a more accurate observation of reality.
- addaon 2y ago> I don't your "most of community" is quite accurate. This isn't how quotes work. If you'd like to quote what I actually said, it was "much of their community." This is a local article in a Flagstaff rag, advertising a Flagstaff shooting range. Flagstaff is their community.
- bbqfog 2y ago50%+ people didn't vote for Trump because 89 million eligible voters didn't vote at all (myself included).
- ben_w 2y ago50% of voters. While one can make reasonable inferences about the non-voters not caring (or saying "a pox on both your houses!"), this is an important difference. Then there's the regional differences, so Flagstaff is in Coconino, and Coconino was 58.98% Harris. Then there's temporal differences, because approval ratings change: https://theconversation.com/three-graphs-that-show-whats-happening-with-donald-trumps-popularity-252857 https://theconversation.com/three-graphs-that-show-whats-hap... Unfortunately, this is likely to get worse, because the Democrats and Republicans appear to no longer be interested in sharing conversations with each other, and are building up increasingly negative caricatures of each other. Very easy to paint a negative picture of all your opponents and call them "mentally ill", either when your media shows you the Tesla arson (R) or this guy (D) and in either case presents it as the median example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacob_Chansley https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacob_Chansley
