I can't leave the feeling that there is a global secret conspiracy against against privacy worldwide. Like how a country like that suddenly decide to attack core rights of their citizens, out of the blue.
That I could easily imagine is that secretly there is a big push from other countries and organization like US, China and Arabian countries to ensure to destroy privacy preserving regulations that block their overreach or offer foreign serviced to their own citizens. It might be upfront like secret-service-to-secret-service pressure to push on regulators but also a lot of money spent on lobbying.

- LinuxBender 2y agoI can't leave the feeling that there is a global secret conspiracy against against privacy worldwide. I chalk it up to planning for a fully kinetic WWIII. Ahead of a major conflict spying, censorship, manipulation, other forms of psychological warfare will increase. This would be examples of fifth-generation warfare. [1] I would expect the volume of this activity to be greatest in Europe at the moment. [1] - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generations_of_warfare https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generations_of_warfare
