I've done it all… wired earbuds, AirPods, dedicated mic with custom noise reduction & EQ. It comes down to this: I don't want stuff in my ear all day, and using a pro mic just comes across as "try hard" in most contexts. It's not a benefit. These days I just use my laptop's mic & speakers like 99% of the people I talk to over Zoom.
