Freshly baked bread lasts quite a while, certainly longer than a week. White wheat longer than whole grain ones, but even those will last without any additional preservatives. Of course it doesn't taste as good as freshly baked bread, but if it gets moldy only after a few days, it was already old or you didn't store it well enough.
