Many students who use AI do so not because they value their own learning, but because they prioritize the grades they earn in class. I work in a high school, so I've seen this first hand. To be fair, this mindset isn’t entirely their fault. Their parents, their future universities, and society as a whole place a high value on getting top grades, too.. In a system where college admissions are highly competitive, and where cheating with AI offers a high reward and low risk, even students who genuinely care about their learning will feel pressured to follow suit. Just to remain in the game.
