Brutal, just calling them low performers?
Companies are really hammering the point lately that we should not have any loyalty towards them. Workers should just extract as much money for the least amount of work possible from businesses.
IDK, feels like corporate America wants to be ruthless as possible lately, operate with no empathy at all.
- NitpickLawyer 2y ago> Workers should just extract as much money for the least amount of work possible from businesses. Why is everything in the US so polarizing right now? Does it have to be "the least amount of work"? Why is this so adversarial? Why not do the (healthier IMO) thing instead, and do your best while keeping a good work/life balance and call it a day? Do you not get a fuzzy feeling when you do good work and are successful? I know it's sometimes called the programmer's high, but it can't be just in that field...

- JohnFen 2y ago> Why is this so adversarial? These companies make it so, by doing things like insulting and disparaging the workers they're laying off.
- tayo42 2y agoI don't think it's polarizing. Jobs are how we keep our lives together. With dehumanizing business practices, we need to only look out for our selves and family. After an 8 month job search and financial stress none of that other stuff matters. I think workers want what you described. And silicon valley /sf bay area companies used to create environments like you described and I think we were mostly satisfied. But it feels like it's not like that anymore. Companies are lo the ones being adversario imo
