This is already a thing, without AI.
A large part of the world is powered by Wordpress for example. You also have Shopify for ecommerce, Webflow, Wix and many others for websites, etc. Then there is a long list of no-code / automation solutions like zapier, JIRA (yes, companies use it for automated workflows), n8n, etc.
So not eventually, and AI might help / aid it but it's been a thing for a long time.
- almosthere 2y agoI don't disagree that a large part of the world runs on shopify/wordpress. But they are small shops and do not represent the custom crafted software that runs Uber's systems, or AirBNB's website. Nor does "wordpress developer" represent even 0.0001% of all high paying software jobs. What I'm referring to is that in the future if a CEO/biz person wants a website + app + game + movie developed, he may barely need to hire anyone. He's going to buy no code products and tell an AI agent what he wants to make. He's not going to hire a team of developers to build it over 2 years and hope for customers.

I know of a country's largest and probably close to monopolistic electronic retailer runs Shopify. Lots of large (stock listed) media outlets run Wordpress. It's definitely not limited to "small shops". > What I'm referring to is that in the future if a CEO/biz person wants a Depends on the industry. E.g. in finance does every build a banking system from scratch? Most buy no code products, e.g. from SAP or other vendors, customize and launches. This is today. Many startups don't actually build from scratch and use no-code builders already. 1 of the pain points is that it doesn't scale. As they continue to evolve this could be fixed. You assume because of prolific bloggers like Uber that everyone builds from scratch etc. Uber was known to be pretty "unique" in that they had too much money and did everything internally. It's the exception. There's a lot more companies (big companies) leveraging open source, using off the shelf products, etc.

- re-thc 2y ago> Imagine how much of the world runs Imagine? It's real... E.g. just recently there was news [0] of the New Zealand's health department (of $16B) is managed by a single Excel.
