I haven't run a Samba instance that has changed those options from their defaults in like twenty years. # grep socket /etc/samba/smb.conf # I don't have any performance-tweaking options set... just auth, share definitions and server identity and protocol information. I learned long ago that for SOHO (and probably even medium-size-office) use, the performance-tweaking defaults for well-tested software like this are just fine.
