Productivity tool - Twitter in Excel
- karamazov 14y agoI'll be trying this out first thing in the office tomorrow.
- bilbobaggie 14y agoI hope Twitter can keep up with all this demand...
- chucknelson 14y agoIs there anything Excel can't do? No. ;)

- josephagoss 14y agoHaha, probably not. At uni students have taken control of a entire pilot plant using excel (Controls and Process Engineering) Excel is pretty versatile
- ConstantineXVI 14y agoStrictly speaking, this is with a Python plugin in Excel. That said, Excel is pretty capable on it's own.
- jurre 14y agoYou could do this with VBa, you would want to poke your own eyes out afterwards probably but it wouldn't be too hard.
- ti86 14y agoI'm actually quite a fan of VBA (and VB6). It's incredibly fast to get something working out of the door, and after all, that is what pays the bills. I built an entire timesheet data collection system for a large organisation in 2000 using Excel+VBA in Office 2000. It wrote data in CSV format onto a network share which was pumped into their AS400. It scaled quite happily across 45000 (!) global users...

- malkia 14y agoSort fast.
- valgaze 14y agoExcel is like Legos. Thinking back, it is astonishing all the things one can jury rig together- from plain Jane spreadsheets to an interview candidate tracking & scheduling system to Japanese candlestick charting
- biggfoot 14y agoHow is this a 'productivity' tool? :P
- simcop2387 14y agoIt leverages the synergy of numerical analysis along with cloud networking social circles to create a paradigm shift allowing for agile spreadsheet management.
- biggfoot 14y agoAh yes ... suddenly it all makes sense. How could I have been so blind! :)
- Karunamon 14y agoYou've got the right of it. It's not a productivity tool, it's a "productivity" tool ;)
- ajuc 14y agoWell, it changes productivity..
- TDL 14y agoIntroduce this to analysts at IBanks & you will see productivity collapse. Very interesting, I look forward to playing with it.
- superprime 14y agomany, if not most, ibanks have twitter blocked.
- vecinu 14y agoI was about to ask why IronSpread was not used but I just realized they are now one and the same!
- sahilz79 14y agoBrilliant! now all one has to do is bypass the Firewall ACL rule that blocks Twitter, and productivity will begin to sky rocket.
