Most consumer apps today don’t serve the user.
They serve engagement loops, ad models, or vanity metrics.
But what if the next generation of software didn’t optimize for time spent?
What if it optimized for human well-being?
Not "digital detox." Not "go outside."
I mean actual tools—designed with intention—that help us:
Think more clearly
Connect more deeply
Escape compulsive use loops
Have conversations instead of perform for attention
Use tech without feeling like it’s using us
We’ve normalized design patterns that train the brain like a slot machine.
But what happens when we start building tech that trains for presence, not addiction?
It seems like the next wave won’t be “anti-tech,” but pro-conscious-tech.
Thoughtful systems, not just minimal ones.
Fewer dopamine traps. More signal. More silence. More agency.
