- dehrmann 2y agoLike browser fingerprinting.
- Dibby053 2y agoLike fingerprint fingerprinting?
- 1oooqooq 2y agono. fingerprinting is like denying a kid at a carnival ride with a height check. what this thread is about is denying a kid a kindergarten spot because the dna shows their height will never get them a basketball college scholarship.
- windward 2y agoI'm very glad this wasn't productised before my in-laws were my in-laws
- nomdep 2y agoYour example doesn’t make any sense, because they could do it right now: most of the kids are never going to get a basketball college scholarship, everyone knows it, including schools, and they don’t care
- balamatom 2y agoIt's an example of a thing that doesn't make any sense. And people are made to care about things that don't actually make any sense all the time, you just gotta set up the incentives just right.
- vihren 2y agoYou might like Gattaca if you haven't seen it.
- longtimelistnr 2y agoOne of my favorite movies
- fc417fc802 2y agoThat sort of thing is already in widespread usage. For example palm geometry readers as a biometric factor to go along with a key card at a building entrance. Although in the future I imagine it's more likely to be things like arm to torso ratio or gait recognition or similar, done via machine vision.
- raverbashing 2y agoIt's different Biometric comparison is commonplace, once you give your biometric info What I'm saying is that people would be id'd by a biometric measure derived from a genetic measure (and yes of course I watched Gattaca already)
