Threatened by what?
- lylejantzi3rd 2y agoExposure, defunding, and prosecution.
- zzrrt 2y agoI take it you think Trump is cleaning up the deep state or something. I think it’s a lot more likely he’s building it.

- zzrrt 2y agoI say so based on skimming https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_state_conspiracy_theory_in_the_United_States https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_state_conspiracy_theory... and thinking about the recent news. Check out the Criticism section, Jon D. Michaels bullet points and consider how they have been negated in the last few months (I think they have.) Here’s an article saying some of it better than I would: https://www.newsweek.com/trump-creating-deep-state-opinion-2034534 https://www.newsweek.com/trump-creating-deep-state-opinion-2... Key quotes: > This is not the normal type of transition. Yes, there is always a bit of upheaval when a new team comes into town. But normally they keep career people at the Justice Department or the National Nuclear Security Administration, whose jobs are not considered political but are vital to national security > Trump and Musk are also trying to make sure that, should a Democrat follow Trump in office, they'll find it extraordinarily difficult to operate with all of the MAGA loyalists Trump has installed in key positions throughout the government > screen applicants for government positions for complete and unwavering loyalty—not to the United States, but to Donald John Trump. Consider Musk and DOGE — elite and unelected, unofficial, unaccountable, shadowy entities that now have great influence on the government. Maybe Project 2025 and people like Curtis Yarvin too, if the network of loyalists use them to coordinate the government’s actions in ways contrary to the nominal structure of the government and in service to the elites rather than the people and the Constitution.
