For anyone reading who may be confused, the 16e does support Qi-based wireless charging at 7.5W, so it’s very possible that a future portless non-Pro iPhone might not have MagSafe either.
- makeitdouble 2y agoThanks. Yes it has wireless charging, but without the magnets. So, Qi but not Qi2. The magnets can probably be set in the cases, like android phones do, but it's definitely not elegant nor as reliable. Wireless charging without the magnets is a real PITA, the bad press wouldn't be worth it for a brand that relies so much on marketing IMHO.
