Because things need to keep evolving, we see great new ideas coming from tools which add progress bar, make colorful output, have knowledge about .git structure etc. Current state of things is quite stalled, in my opinion.
- kh_hk 2y agoIt's funny git structure support is often cited as a good feature to have, baked in a tool that should outlive git itself.
- kelafoja 2y agoBut the explicit goal of this project is not to evolve, but to rewrite 1:1. Also making progress bars and colors does not require Rust, it's equally possible in C, C++, Zig, Go, Swift, etc.
- mid-kid 2y agoIt already adds a couple new features, like a progress bar to a few utilities.
