The prevelance of phrases like "low IQ response try harder" makes me think they're scripted.
Perhaps. Just downvote, then click on comment date flag and move on with your day. One could email dang but I doubt much information would be disclosed and I highly doubt any stats would ever be added regarding these posts. Any stats added would also be weaponized by the trolls.
Ultimately they handle these things on the backend. If the trolls move to threats or violent speech then email dang with the link and annotate the Subject accordingly.
- ggm 2y agoThanks. I'm in most ways just wondering if there is either a quantitative or qualitative trend change here. Remediation lies elsewhere. I now tend to have concerns even replying "troll: ignore" feeds the troll.
- LinuxBender 2y agoYeah don't reply to them. They are likely chatting outside of this site on a chat server and seeing who they can taunt. I've not seen a big swing upward but they are active every day and seem to be more active in specific times of the day. Timezone specific. It's not a new or unique issue to this site. That type of trolling is as old as the internet. The closest one can get to seeing the patterns is having Show Dead enabled and visiting at all hours.
