The Trump administration is trying to tell Columbia what they are allowed to teach by ordering them to place their Middle Eastern Studies department under receivership.
This is an indisputably authoritation move, and in no way should be tolerated by a society that purports to care about democratic principles, freedom of speech, or the rule of law.
- thomassmith65 2y agoThis comment sounds like it's directed toward people who don't understand what 'liberal democracy' means, but since they don't, it's futile. It's like being stuck in a cage with a troop of delirious gorillas who haven taken amphetamines. They're all shrieking and careening about. But all you can do is hope they don't kill you when they come down off their high, and wait for them eventually to sober up.
