- cinntaile 2y agoThey don't remove posts that discuss European tech sovereignty. It was probably flagged by the community instead.
- lawn 2y agoEverything that can be connected in a negative way to the current government gets flagged, so this will probably get flagged soon too.
- hsuduebc2 2y agoYou would say that they are shielding themselves from Trump or his minions and are as opportunistic as every other tech based company? To be fair I do not see much of the critiques to the "other side" either. Someone can just perceive this as a politics and just doesn't need it in his information space.
- jeromegv 2y agoThis feature has definitely been abused by fans of the current US administration. Anything close to being critical gets flagged and needs manual intervention to be brought back.

- FlorisWie 2y agoThe post disappeared from my home page, though I can still find it when searching. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I hope the free speech administration recognizes the flagging as satire, but such nuance will probably go over their heads
- bilbo0s 2y agoI hope the free speech administration... well right there is where you went off the rails isn't it. These people never said they supported free speech. Maybe people assumed that's what they were saying? But that wasn't actually what any of them said. Mostly what they were saying was that they felt conservative viewpoints were being systematically removed from public discourse. That's subtly different than saying they support free speech.
- 52-6F-62 2y agoIt and anything mildly questioning the morality of the current moves being made by popular VCs including YCombinator.
- lurk2 2y agoI have seen multiple comments on Hacker News suggesting that CEOs should be guillotined.
- AlecSchueler 2y agoCould you link to two of them?

- AlecSchueler 2y agoThanks for the effort, I appreciate it, but neither of those are actually calling for anyone to be guillotined. The first is a prediction of what could happen long in the future if certain behaviours continue to worsen and the latter is asking why guillotines aren't valid solutions. Both seem to have been delivered with tongues in cheek. Have there been any comments suggesting CEOs "should be" guillotined as you claimed above?

- lurk2 2y ago> Have there been any comments suggesting CEOs "should be" guillotined as you claimed above? Fundamentally this is not a question of whether or not I can pull up specific comments that meet your interpretation of my original comment, it’s a question of whether or not Hacker News is permissive of narratives contrary to the interests of Bay Area technology executives. Here’s a few comments (some of them qualified: “I would never advocate for violence BUT…”) celebrating the murder of the United Healthcare CEO: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42318585 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42318585 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42318319 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42318319 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42318391 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42318391 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42317953 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42317953 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42368219 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42368219 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42349705 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42349705 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42349649 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42349649 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42328735 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42328735 The moderation of this forum is incredibly permissive; the people who feel they are being censored are more often than not just getting flagged by the community for posting off-topic political rants that were never permitted here to begin with.
- ChocolateGod 2y agoThis isn't Reddit
- chvid 2y agoIt is being soft censored by not getting to the front page even though the submission has plenty of upvotes.
