Can someone do a similar analysis which explains clearly why I can see the moon during the day sometimes.
I kinda understand intuitively, as the sun and moon obviously have different orbits, but I'd love to see actual visualisations of this, perhaps in 3D.
- hoherd 2y agoHere is a physical 3D visualization (a LEGO set) showing the sun and moon orbits. My children and I put this together last year before the eclipse as a way for them to better understand why the eclipse was happening https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/planet-earth-and-moon-in-orbit-42179 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/planet-earth-and-moon-in-... In the set, the earth spins on its axis, the moon orbits the earth, and the earth orbits the sun. There are stickers that mark the months of the year so you can see when solstices and equinoxes happen.
