I’m going thru something similar (eerily similar actually) but for my B2C product, most people that hear about it quickly understand that it’s a “good idea” and want to try it and tell other people about it. Our problem is, and always has been, dev velocity. It simply takes too long to implement what we know people want and our runway gets shorter and shorter.

I agree about dev velocity being an issue. As a single developer, it's going to take ages before I can compete head to head with these other established apps, who also have good financial backing. If I want to get customers for my product, I'll have to look for users who are currently not using anything else so that they can invest on mine. I'll probably have to invest quite a bit on paid ads in order to attract these kind of people because they're hard to come across. Or I can try the 1000 true fans route and try to get ramen profitability. We'll see how it goes.
