Cake is watching you: I built a camera cake
- spacebanana7 2y agoI think lightbulb cameras would be better for long term surveillance. Naturally connected to a long term power supply and easier to hide cabled networking to avoid emissions. Extracting faces might be more difficult, but that’s “just a software problem”.
- pfdietz 2y agoCovered with eyes: biblically correct angel food cake.
- jedbrooke 2y agoonce the article started listing the software and hardware components, I was expecting a recipe for the cake too :)
- bombcar 2y agoYou can print images on cakes. You could make a cake that takes pictures and gives you a cake with the picture.
- hazalmestci 2y agomy next project :)
- Atatator 2y ago"The cake is a lie"
- forks 2y agoThe cake has a Li-ion
- kurthr 2y agoThe cake is on fire!
- mikelward 2y agoThe cake is a spy
- intrasight 2y agoLet them not eat cake
- hinkley 2y agoBetter that you had said, “This is a triumph”
- darkwater 2y agoWhat is this Viam? Looks like something like NodeRed? There are too many AI related buzzwords in the website and I am genuinely not able to understand what the product and the (opensource?) viam-server is about.
- margalabargala 2y agoTheir platform overview page does a decent job of talking about it without buzzwords. https://www.viam.com/product/platform-overview https://www.viam.com/product/platform-overview Basically, device drivers, data sync, control logic and ML inference all in one plus the glue to use it all together. I agree that they would benefit from a page dedicated more towards engineers and less towards marketers.
- shermantanktop 2y agoI appreciate the hardware side but shuddered when I read the words “cake mix.”
- fitsumbelay 2y agoif "competition is for losers" is the axiom, "confectionary roboticist" literally takes the cake. very cool. very inspirational
