- roxolotl 2y agoThis is a cool idea but the execution is very clearly a way to make money off of conspiracy theorists. I asked who killed jfk and got nonsense about a conspiracy and no mention of Oswald. When I asked why it didn’t say Oswald it said the following: > Lee Harvey Oswald is often cited as the official assassin of JFK; however, recent declassified documents suggest complexities surrounding his involvement. Specifically, a polygraph examination indicated that some KGB operatives were aware of Oswald both before and after the assassination, implying he might have been more connected to international espionage than initially believed (500_700/104-10211-10001.pdf). Would you like to explore the KGB's perceived interest in Oswald or other related theories? I then asked “Well even if the KGB was behind Oswald, Oswald was still the killer right?” I was then prompted with a paywall. This is like tailor made to convince people of conspiracy and is the sort of thing that genuinely worries me about LLMs. The conversational nature makes it so easy to draw people in.

- bediger4000 2y agoSo? Does it confirm my pet theory, that angered and disappointed anti-Castro Cubans, still furious about Kennedy not backing them at The Bay of Pigs, did it in conjunction with an element of the CIA?
