I'm going to be contrarian and say that he's mostly right for all of them. SVN was simpler, git is more complex. SVN did some things well that git does not so well. But this all misses the point. Git is many many times more powerful than SVN. And that complexity is really useful, even for relatively small projects. You can learn Git's complexity, removing many of SVN's advantages. But you can never get Git's power into SVN.
