- 999900000999 2y agoHonestly foreign aid is more or less a tool of manipulation by more powerful states. They don't want independent countries, they want neo colonies forever dependent on foreign aid. Can't bite the hand that feeds you. Better let us put up another military base. At the same time, in the short term this aid does help real people. Real people who will then have the chance to flee their home countries for ones not trapped in poverty.
