- bediger4000 2y agoI snickered at the subtle dig at David Brooks, but this does read like a sly defense of Elon Musk. I would even buy this particular defense, but Elon and his adoring crowds don't applaud him as a "smart guy" but rather "an exceptionally smart guy, a brilliant guy". From that standpoint, this defense falls flat. Elon is supposed to be able to extemporize and remember facts like Tyler Cowen, according to the adoring crowds, and Elon himself.
