Expatriation (immigration?) to Portugal from America furthers Portuguese wealth inequality and housing crisis. Lisbon is already basically a playground for foreigners and if you do decide to move there please try to assimilate by learning the language, etc. Source: Portuguese/US citizen. Lived there for a year with a "good" Portuguese salary of 2000 euros a month; much different lifestyle than what the typical US tech worker is accustomed to. And not doable long term unless you plan to retire in Portugal and not do much travelling.
