People in this country perennially choose wanting to be "better than" over wanting to be happy.
- nielsbot 2y agoWorking class solidarity is the only solution. I recently realized that people should understand they have more in common with (and must have solidarity with) the next people down on the socio-economic rung instead of trying to climb the ladder in hopes of joining those on the next rung up.
- h2zizzle 2y agoIt will never happen, especially with the racialized nature of that socioeconomic ladder. The country that generates downvotes on a post recognizing the similarities between BLM/Floyd Protests and the Euromaidan (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43389979 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43389979) could never.
