I have a dumb question since school days, how to you build two "slits" as small as particle size? I assume there's tons of interacting forces when you zoom in to that scale. The "slits" are made of particles themselves afterall.
Is it really similar to the "slits" we see in daily life or something different going on here?
- moi2388 2y agoThe slits are not made of particles, they are slits, so the absence of particles. You could make a double slit experiment by shining a laser on a single strand of hair, this would create two wide slits on either side. Or draw black sharpie on some glass, and scratching two openings on it with a needle. Since effects are clearer when it matches wavelength, you can also buy pre-made ones if you don’t feel like making it yourself
- throwawayffffas 2y agoThe slits do not have to be particle sized. You just cut a couple on a sheet of metal.
