The cartel runs Mexico and these Americans are in a very precarious position if things get real.....

- flanked-evergl 2y agoIt's unfathomable that anyone would suggest that the US should just let cartels run rough shot over the American population because tourists want to travel to risky places that no sane person should ever travel to.

- flanked-evergl 2y agoMexico is the way it is because the people who live there by and large want to make it the way it is. It's not something inherent to the soil that makes it that way. Mexico can thrive if Mexicans choose to make it thrive.
- thirdacc 2y agoWould you say the same about Hong Kong? Every single person who can effect change and publicly opposes the cartel gets killed. Every single one. There is a list [0] of the ones killed in 2024 alone. Even outside of politics, you can't even really joke about the cartel while in Mexico, no matter who you are. They torture and kill entire families over nothing. - flanked-evergl 2y agoGreat to see that the US is prioritising their own border integrity even almost as much as the whole world expects them to prioritise Ukraine's border integrity. Really jealous.
- MollyGodiva 2y agoWhat is a guided missile destroyer going to do to prevent migrants from walking across the border. If some are coming by boat then the Coast Guard can handle that, I mean it is kind in their name.
- delichon 2y agoYes, it's a weapon's platform first, but it's a surveillance platform zeroeth, to point the weapons.
- flanked-evergl 2y agoMigrants come in at port of entry. Illegal aliens and cartels should be made to turn around, and a missile destroyed can make them do that.

- 1659447091 2y agoI thought that, if you look at a map, they drew an artificial line a long time ago, many, many decades ago. All these arbitrary border lines and all, what's the big deal with people walking over? /s
