Thank you for noticing the similarity! I understand why you'd see parallels between the two sites, as they both focus on mood-based movie recommendations.
MoodieMovie is actually my first side project, and I built it as a learning experience. While the core concept of mood-based recommendations exists in other places (great minds think alike!), my implementation is quite different technically. I used deepseek AI to generate mood tags for each movie in my database, creating a unique mapping system between emotions and film characteristics.
I've also added curated collections like the Top250 and Top100 movie lists to help users discover cinema classics beyond just mood-based browsing. These magazine-style sections are something I'm particularly proud of as they showcase essential films in a visually engaging way.
As someone new to development, this project has been an incredible learning journey for me. I'd love to hear what aspects you think work well or could be improved!
Do you have any favorite mood-based recommendation systems or features you'd like to see in future updates?

- devxiyang 2y agohahaha, yes, i'm a english starter. my english is not very good yet. So, I just write a draft and then let ai optimize it.
- exmadscientist 2y agoDon't. AI just sounds like a bubbly idiot. Even broken English is much easier to understand, ironically enough.
- devxiyang 2y agoThanks very much, bro. I will use my own words!
